UCO Bank is a Kolkata-based mid-sized public sector bank (PSB) and has recently come out with its Q4FY10 results that have been able beat the street expectations.

Depreciation is expected to increase sharply in FY11 on account of the capex of Rs 80 crore carried out by the company in FY10. In FY11, HIL plans to incur a capex of about Rs 100 crore, which will be funded partly by debt and the rest from internal accruals

In the last few trading sessions the stock witnessed several bulk deals and is likely to witness further northward movement from this point. Therefore, the stock can be looked upon for some short-term trading gains.

The bank reported significant improvement in asset quality as Gross NPA declining by 17 per cent on a Q-o-Q basis and Net NPA declining by 23 per cent on Q-o-Q basis in absolute terms, with the help of higher write-offs and reduction in gross slippages in the quarter.

The stock has witnessed a subdued movement for the last six months due to somewhat lacklustre quarterly results. L&T registered a robust order inflow of Rs 23843 crore for 4QFY10 and Rs 69752 crore for FY10

Despite growing at a three-year CAGR of 85 per cent and 127 per cent in the topline and bottomline, the company’s valuations continue to remain low at 14x. But it's only about time that the scrip will catch up with the valuations.
