POWERGRID,a navratna PSE under Ministry of power & the central transmission Utility (CTU) of the country, has been conferred the "The First DSIJ PSU Awards 2009" by Dalal Street Group of Publication for being "one of the largest transmission utilities in the world." The award was presented by Smt.Sheila Dikshit, Hon. Chief Minister of Delhi on 24th Martch,2009 in New Delhi. Smt. Dikshit also launched a book titled "India's Best Public Sector Enterprises 2009" published by Dalal Street Investment Journal group.

During 2008-09 the compant has also been conferred three national awards for meritorius performance in the field of transmission sector for system availability and early completion of project for the years 2007-2008.
