Sensex, Nifty Dicey, BHEL Plunges 6%
The Indian markets witnessed some directionless momentum in today’s trading session. The sectors like Capital Goods, Bankex and Consumer Durables has been decline sharply. However FMCG, Health Care and IT provide some supports to indices. At the end of the trading session Nifty index up by 12 points at 7739 and the Sensex ended the day on higher at 25918, up by 38 points.
The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the negative side as the day ended with 1191 shares in green and 2432 shares in the red zone.
Top Nifty Gainers: ITC gained 2.95% in today’s trade, followed by HCL Tech, HUL, HDFC and Sun Pharma.
Top Nifty Losers: BHEL closed the day lower by 6.47%, followed by Bank Of Baroda, DLF, Coal India and Tata Power.
The sectoral indices closed on a mixed note. Capital Goods and Consumer Durables indices closed down by 382 points and 189 points respectively. Bankex and Metals also witnessed northward trade more than 150 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also closed on negative note. However on the other hand FMCG, IT and Health Care provide some support to close on positive note.
All the major Asian markets closed the day on a positive note. Hang Seng closed up by 52 points, whereas Nikkei index closed up by 200 points. KOSPI and Shanghai Composite also closed in the positive territory.
Buzzer: BHEL was down by more than 6% on the bourses today and closed near the technical level of Rs 210. If the stock opens below this level, it may touch the Rs 195/180 mark in the next few sessions.
Nifty Future consolidates in the range of 7710-7740 levels. These levels will act as a major part in tomorrow’s session.
