Indices Resilient, Nifty Above 8100

The Indian markets witnessed superb up-move in today’s trading session. The indices not only broke the major hurdles but also sustained on higher levels. Auto and Capital Goods were the outperformers of the day, up more than 400 points, followed by Bankex, Health Care and Metals which surged well. The Nifty rallied by 139 points at 8114 and Sensex was up by 480 points at 27112 in the closing bell.

The advance-decline ratio on NSE was positive side, as the day ended with 2519 shares in green and 1132 shares in the red zone.

Top Nifty Gainers: Hero Motocorp gained 5.8% in today’s trade, followed by DLF, BPCL, Tata Motors and L&T.

Top Nifty Losers: Infosys closed the day lower by 1.18%, followed by United Spirits and HUL.

All of the sectoral indices closed on a positive note. The indices like Auto and Capital Goods rallied up by more than 400 points each, followed by Bankex, Health Care, Consumer Durables stocks, which were up by more than 250 by points each. Mid-caps and small-caps closed on positive note, up by 177 points and 290 points respectively.

Most the major Asian markets had a positive session on the bourses today and ended the day in the upward territory. The Nikkei market closed up by 178 points, while Taiwan and Shanghai Composite closed on the positive side. However, the Hang Seng market witnessed down move by 207 points,    

Buzzer: Hero Motocorp was up by more than 5.8% on the bourses today and closed up at the technical level around Rs 3000. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch Rs 3035/3055 mark in the next few sessions.

Nifty future has given a bullish crossover as it closed above the technical level of 8100. If it continues with the current scenario, it may touch level of 8200.
