Sensex, Nifty Continue With The Positive Sentiment

After a positive opening today, the Indian market hold its gain. Auto stocks like Tata Motors, M&M and Bajaj Auto rallied, while Metals like Hindalco, Tata Steel & Jindal Steel also saw handsome up-moves. As a result the Nifty closed up by 62 points at 8090 and Sensex was up by 217 points at 27098 in the closing bell.

The advance-decline ratio on NSE was positive, as the day ended with 1942 shares in green and 1730 shares in the red zone.

Top Nifty Gainers: Hindalco gained 6.23% in today’s trade, followed by DLF, Tata Steel, Jindal Steel and Tata Motors.

Top Nifty Losers: PNB closed the day lower by 1.82%, followed by Bank Of Baroda, Dr Reddys Labs, NTPC and Sun Pharma.

Most of the sectoral indices were positive in today’s session. Auto and Metals provided good support to the indices and were up around 300 points each. Consumer Durables, IT and Oil & Gas stocks were up more than 100 points each. Mid-caps and small-caps also closed in the positive territory. However Bankex and Health Care closed on a nominally negative trade.    

The Asian markets also had a positive session on the bourses today. The Nikkei market saw up move by 224 points, while Straits Times also closed on a positive note. The Hang Seng Index closed in the positive territory, up by 299 points.      

Buzzer: Tata Motors was up by more than 4.5% on the bourses today and closed up at the technical level around Rs 525. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch Rs 535/550 mark in the next few sessions.

Nifty future sustained above 8050 mark which will be the vital support for further trade.
