Nifty On Top, IT Outperforms
The Indian markets witnessed superb rally in end of the F&O October series. All the sectoral indices closed in the positive territory. IT sector outperformed in today’s session and was up by 200 points. Oil & Gas and Consumer Durables were up more than 150 points. As a result the Nifty closed up by 78 points at 8169 and Sensex was up by 248 points at 27346 in the closing bell.
The advance-decline ratio on NSE was positive, as the day ended with 1931 shares in green and 1724 shares in the red zone.
Top Nifty Gainers: DLF gained 5.08% in today’s trade, followed by HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, Reliance and IndusInd Bank.
Top Nifty Losers: Cairn India closed the day lower by 1.29%, followed by Ambuja Cement, Cipla, Sesa Sterlite and M&M.
All of the sectoral indices were positive in today’s session. IT was the outperformer in today’s trade, up by 210 points. Oil & Gas, Consumer Durables and Capital Goods stocks were up around 150 points each. Bankex, Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also closed in the positive territory.
The Asian markets also had a mixed session on the bourses today. The Nikkei market saw up move by 104 points, while Straits Times also closed on a positive note. However the Hang Seng Index closed in the negative territory, down by 117 points. Taiwan and KOSPI also closed in the negative territory.
Buzzer: DLF was up by more than 5% on the bourses today and closed up at the technical level around Rs 125. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch Rs 135/150 mark in the next few sessions.
Nifty future gave a bullish crossover as it closed above 8150 mark. Going ahead index may see trade above 8220 mark.
