Market Continue With Positive Momentum
Today was the second consecutive session that the Indian markets saw their march ahead. IT and Capital Goods index were leaders in today’s session and were up by 202 points and 195 points respectively. Metals stocks like Sail, Hindlaco and JSW Steel saw a handsome gains. The Nifty index rose up by 65 points to 8225 mark and Sensex was 245 points up at 27371 in today’s closing buzz.
The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the mixed side as the day ended with 1484 shares in green and 1418 shares in the red zone.
Top Nifty Gainers: Power Grid Corp gained 3.19% in today’s trade, followed by Hindalco, ICICI Bank, Tata Power and Wipro.
Top Nifty Losers: DLF closed the day lower by 2.87%, followed by ITC, Asian Paints, Bharti Airtel and HUL.
Most of the sectoral indices closed on a positive note. IT and Capital Goods stocks were the leaders in today’s session, up around 200 points each. Followed by Metals, Bankex and Oil & Gas also that closed in a positive territory of around 150 points each. Mid-caps and Small Caps also provided good strength. However, FMCG and Auto closed in negative note, down by 71 points and 29 points respectively.
All the major Asian markets closed the day on a positive note. The Nikkei index witnessed positive closing of 411 points, followed by Hang Seng closed in up by 284 points. While Taiwan, KOSPI and Straits Time Index closed in green note.
Buzzer: Power Grid Corp was up by more than 3% on the bourses today and closed near the technical level of Rs 135. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch the Rs 145/158 mark in the next few sessions.
Nifty Future witnessed bullish breakout in intraday chart around 8200 level. Going ahead, 8160 and 8130 levels will be the vital supports.
