Indices End On Positive Note, DLF Up By 3.4%
The Indian markets witnessed directionless movement as traders were in holiday mood. IT stocks like Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech and Hexaware recovered well, up around 1.5%. Mid-caps and Metals also showed some positive sentiments. In today’s session, Nifty ended up by 26 points at 8200 whereas Sensex closed 33 points up at 27241.
The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the mixed side as the day ended with 1427 shares in green and 1417 shares in the red zone.
Top Nifty Gainers: DLF gained 3.46% in today’s trade, followed by Jindal Steel, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech and HDFC.
Top Nifty Losers: BHEL closed the day lower by 1.18%, followed by Zee Entertainment, Maruti Suzuki, ITC and HUL.
Most of the sectoral indices closed on a positive note. IT stocks were the leaders in today’s session, up by 87 points. Metals and Mid-Caps also closed in the positive territory, up by 61 points and 41 points respectively. Bankex, Capital Goods, Small-Caps and Health Care also closed in positive territory. However FMCG and Consumer Durables were down in today’s trade, by 63 points and 46 points respectively.
All the major Asian markets closed the day on a positive note. The Nikkei index witnessed positive closing, up by 10 points, while Taiwan Index and Shanghai Composite closed in green territory, up by 55 points and 85 points respectively.
Buzzer: DLF was up by more than 3.5% on the bourses today and closed near the technical level of Rs 135. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch the Rs 145/160 mark in the next few sessions.
Nifty Future consolidates in the narrow range around 8230-8260 levels. Going ahead, 8180/8150 will be the immediate support levels.
