Indices Pull Back, Nifty Up By 132 Points

The Indian market opened on the green note and witnessed massive up-move till closing buzz. All the Indices closed in the positive territory. Bankex stocks were the outperformers in today trade, up by 434 points. Auto stocks like Tata Motors and Apollo Tyres were up more than 3%. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also showed super recovery, up around 200 points. The Nifty index was up by 132 points at 8234 and the Sensex ended the day higher at 27274, up by 365 points.

The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the positive side as the day ended with 2055 shares in green and 831 shares in the red zone.

Top Nifty Gainers: Asian Paints gained 6.30% in today’s trade, followed by DLF, Kotak Mahindra Bank, BPCL and Jindal Steel.

Top Nifty Losers: Reliance closed the day lower by 1.43%, followed by Zee Entertainment down by 0.10%.

All the sectoral indices closed on a positive note. Banking stocks were the outperformers of the day, dragged indices on the higher side, up by 434 points. Auto index was up by 294 points. Capital Goods, Healthcare, FMCG and Metals also closed in the positive  territory, up around 150 points each. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps witnessed handsome buying, up by 200 points each.

All the major Asian markets closed the day on a positive note. Nikkei index was up by 281 points. Hang Seng closed on the positive note, up by 154 points. Taiwan and Straits Times closed in the positive territory.

Buzzer: Asian Paints was down by more than 6.3% on the bourses today and closed near the technical level of Rs 800. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch the Rs 840/860 mark in the next few sessions.

Nifty Future sustained above 8200 level, indicating vital support on the lower levels around 8180/8150 mark.
