Indices Fall At Closing Buzz
The Indian equity markets witnessed side-way trade in today’s session. However, the benchmark indices witnessed massive fall in last hour of trade. Auto and Healthcare companies tanked and their indices fell around 290 points each. This was followed by IT and Capital Goods index that fell by around 170 points each. Mid-caps and Small-Caps also closed in negative territory. The Nifty ended below its crucial support levels and was down by 83 points and closed at 8750 while Sensex was down by 244 points and closed at 28799.
The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on a negative side, as the day ended with 1387 shares in green and 1478 shares in the red zone.
Top Nifty Gainers: Sesa Sterlite closed the day higher by 2.84%, followed by ONGC, Bank Of Baroda, Tata Power and SBI.
Top Nifty Losers: BHEL closed the day lower by 4.22%, followed by HCL Tech, M&M, Sun Pharma and Tata Motors.
Most of the sectoral indices were negative in today’s session. Auto and Healthcare stocks dragged the indices on lower side and were down by 290 points each. Followed by Capital Goods and IT stocks also were loss all their gains, down by 170 points each. Even Small-Caps, Mid-Caps, Bankex and Metals were unable to sustain above green mark and were down more than 50 points each. However Oil & Gas and FMCG closed nominally up around 20 points each.
The Asian markets witnessed some positive scenario. The Hang Seng market continues with its up move by 57 points. Followed by Straits Times and KOSPI market that were up by 18 points and 8 points respectively. However the Nikkei and Taiwan market saw negative movement.
Buzzer: BHEL was down by more than 4.22% on the bourses today and closed below at the technical level around Rs 235. If the stock opens below this level, it may touch Rs 225/220 mark in the next few sessions.
Nifty Future closed below its crucial support which was around 8800 mark. If its sustain below this level may see 8740/8710 levels.
