Choppy Indices Closed On a Negative Note

The benchmark indices witnessed some profit booking on the closing buzz for today’s trade. Majority of the sectoral indices turned to close at today’s lower levels. The Nifty closed down by 20 points at 8360 while Sensex was down by 74 point and closed at 27729.

The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the negative side, as the day ended with 1218 shares in green and 1504 shares in the red zone.

Top Nifty Gainers: BHEL closed the day higher by 4.22%, followed by Zee Entertainment, HUL, Lupin and Sun Pharma.

Top Nifty Losers: PNB closed the day lower by 3.60%, followed by Hindalco, Bank Of Baroda, Tata Steel and M&M.

Most of the sectoral indices witnessed a close on a negative note. Metals and Auto index failed  in today’s session, and were down around 150 points each. This was followed by Oil & Gas and Capital Goods index that were down by around 100 points each. While Bankex, Consumer Durables, IT Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also closed in red territory.Choppy Indices Closed On Negative Note.

The Asian markets continued in a positive scenario. The Hang Seng market saw good up moves by 71 points, followed by Nikkei market that was up by 58 points. While Taiwan and KOSPI market saw nominal negative trades.    

Buzzer: Zee Entertainment was up by more than 2.5% on the bourses today and closed up at the technical level around Rs 350. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch Rs 360/375 mark in the next few sessions.

The Nifty Future entered in consolidation phase in the range of 8330-8400 level. Tomorrow’s opening will decide further moves.
