Swing Trades End Positive

The Indian markets saw a highly volatile session today. The indices first moved down with heavy amount of profit booking in the morning session, then saw rally till the closing, where it closed near the day’s high. At the closing bell, the Nifty ended higher by 37 points at 8522 and the Sensex gained 115 points to close at 28208.

On closing, the market breadth was positive. On the NSE, 1788 shares closed in the green and 1010 shares ended the day in red.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Dr Reddys closed the day with the highest gain on the NSE, as it ended higher by 3.5%. Cipla, BPCL, ACC and Bank of Baroda were the others that ended higher in today’s trade.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: Vedanta was the top loser, as it closed lower by 4.19%. It was followed by NMDC, Tech mahindra, Hindalco and Power Grid Corp.

Majority of the sectoral indices closed in the green today. Healthcare was the highest gainer as it gained 275 points by the day’s end. Bankex and Oil & Gas were up around 100 points each. Mid-caps, Small-Caps and and Capital Goods also were shown good recovery. However Consumer Durable and metals closed in negative territory.    

In the Asian markets, the Nikkei closed down by 427 points. The Hang Seng index ended lower by 827 points. The Taiwan and KOSPI also closed in negative note.  

Buzzer: Cipla the healthcare stocks saw superb upward momentum today. Its surged around 3.5% and also closed above the technical level of 650, which is the positive indicator for further trade.   

Nifty Futures closed above the 8500 level today. This will be the pivot level for tomorrow’s trading session.
