Indices Bounce Back On F&O Expiry
The Indian markets witnessed a good up-move in the last session of July F&O series expiry. The Sensex ended 141 points higher at 27705 while Nifty ended 46 points above its previous closing at 8421.
The advance-decline ratio ended positive in the closing session. On the NSE, 1750 shares closed in green, while 1125 shares ended the day in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Bank Of Baroda saw the highest gains of 10.05%. PNB, Dr Reddys Labs, Cipla and ITC were the others that gained in today’s session.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: NMDC closed down by 2.1%, followed by Sun Pharma, Hindalco, Infosys and Kotak Mahindra.
10 of the 13 sectors ended in the green. The FMCG index was the top gainer, up by 212 points. Bankex, Healthcare, Mid-caps and Small-Caps also ended in the green, they were up around 100 points each. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps were both up by 90 points.
The Asian markets closed on a negative note. The Shanghai market was the top loser, down by 2.2 per cent. The Hang Seng was lower by 0.49 per cent.
Buzzer: Bank Of Baroda Posted good set of number in its first quarter and stocks moved up around 10% to cross major technical level of 165. Going ahead, stock may continue with this upward momentum to surges ahead.
The Nifty index closed above the 8400 level, indicating a positive move ahead.
