Automobile companies post September Sales

Maruti Suzuki India

Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) witnessed a growth of 11.7 per cent on yearly basis in sales to 694664 units in H1FY16. The company's increased by 3.5 per cent to 63462 units and domestic sales rose by 12.7 per cent to 628963 units in H1FY16 on yearly basis. MSIL's sales rose by 3.7 per cent to 113759 units in September 2015. The company's domestic sales increased by 6.8 per cent to 106083 units while its export declined by 26.6 per cent to 7676 units in September 2015 on yearly basis. MSIL's mid-size segment increased by 212.1 per cent to 4291 units during September 2015.

Tata Motors

Tata Motors sales dropped by 2 per cent to 45215 units in September 2015 on yearly basis. The company's passenger vehicles sales were flat at 11774 units during the month. Its medium and heavy commercial vehicle (MHCV) sales boosted 52 per cent to 15915 units while light and small commercial vehicle sales declined by 29 per cent to 13124 units in September 2015. Tata Motors exports decreased by 16 per cent to 4402 units during September 2015.

Ashok Leyland

The total sales of Ashok Leyland rose by 45 per cent to 65523 units in H1FY16. The company's MHCV segment sales boosted by 55 per cent to 51325 units in H1FY16 on yearly basis. The LCV segment sales rose by 16 per cent to 14198 units in H1FY16 compared to same period in previous fiscal. Ashok Leyland's MHCV segment witnessed a growth of 83 per cent to 12134 units during September 2015.

TVS Motors Company

TVS Motor Company reported a 1.67 per cent decline in total sales at 232775 units in September 2015. The company's total two-wheeler sales decresed by 2.89 per cent to 221002 units and Motorcycle sales declined 1.36 per cent to 90378 units during September 2015. ItsScooter sales grew 14.21 per cent to 75369 units in September 2015 as against 65,993 in the same month last year. TVS Motor Company's export jumped 32.68 per cent to 41435 units during month of September 2015.

Mahindra and Mahindra

Total sales of Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) decreased by 2 per cent to 222701 vehicles in H1FY16 on yearly basis. Total domestic sales declined by 5 per cent to 204020 units in H1FY16 compared same period in previous fiscal. However, its export increased by 37 per cent to 18681 vehicles in H1FY16 on yearly basis. M&M's tractor sales declined by 37 per cent from 28739 units in September 2015.

Eicher Motors

Eicher Motors Royal Enfield sales increased by 58.78 per cent to 44491 units during the month of September 2015. Out of this exports were up 56 per cent at 750 units. Eicher Motors reported a 27.72 per cent rise in commercial vehicle sales at 4248 units in September 2015.

Bajaj Auto

Bajaj Auto (BAL) total sales increased by 1 per cent to 2069625 units in H1FY16 on yearly basis. The company's export increased by 4 per cent to 996645 units in H1FY16 compared to the same period in its previous fiscal. Its commercial vehicles segment boosted sales by 8 per cent to 291293 units in H1FY16 which is its Ahighest ever half-yearly sales.
