Bulls party on D-street
Before the May F&O expiry session, The Indian markets climbed more than 2 per cent, with Banks, Auto and IT being the key gainers. The Nifty ended 189 points up at 7934 and the Sensex ended 575 points up at 25881. The global scenario also looked up today.
The advance-decline ratio ended in the positive today. On the NSE, 1566 shares closed in green, while 970 shares ended the day in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Tech Mahindra closed with highest top gains, up by 10.5%. IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, BHEL and Bajaj Auto were the others trading higher.
Top Nifty Losers: Cipla was only one loser down by 4.9% today.
13 of the 13 sectors ended in the green. Bankex was up by 593 points, Auto gained 328 points and IT was 248 points higher. The Capital Goods sector also provided good support, up by 381 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps were both up more than 100 points.
The Asian markets closed on a positive note. The Hang Seng market was the top gainer, up by 537 points and Nikkei ended 258 points higher. KOSPI and Taiwan Weighted were also in the green zone.
Buzzers: Tech Mahindra the stock surged after the announcement of earning, up by 10.05% at Rs 528. If it sustains above the technical level of Rs 500, it may see more upward moves.
Nifty Futures have broken their bullish crossover at 7900 and also managed to close above this level. A positive opening is likely in tomorrow’s trading session.
