Indices recover from lower ends
After starting on a positive note, the Indian markets witnessed some sell-off on the higher side. However indices have recouped these losses on closing buzz. Although they ended negatively, the Sensex bounced back by 100 points and the Nifty by 30 points. On Tuesday’s session, the Sensex closed lower by 57 points at 26667 and the Nifty by 18 points at 8160. The indices traded lower by 0.22 percent each.
On the NSE, the advance-decline ratio is still on the negative side with 995 advances and 1564 declines.
Top Nifty Gainers: Tata Motors DVR is leading the gainers' lists so far and is up by 11.7%. It is followed by Tata Motors, Aurobindo Pharma, Tata Steel and Bank of Baroda.
Top Nifty Losers: Sun Pharma was leading the losers' list and is down by 6.08%. It was followed by Bharti Infratel, TCS, GAIL and BPCL.
Most of the sectors regained from the heavy depreciation seen this morning. But yet, 7 out of the 13 sectoral indices are trading with losses. Healthcare remains the top loser, trading lower by 215 points. It is followed by IT and Capital Goods, which are down by 215 points and 97 points respectively. Mid-caps and small-caps also tumbled in this negative scenario and are lower by 20 points and 15 points respectively.
The Asian markets continued to witness an upward rally. The Hang Seng was up by 185 points. It was followed by the Nikkei which was up by 166 points. The Straits Times and Taiwan were trading with nominal losses.
Buzzer: The stocks of Tata Steel surged by 3.7 per cent, to touch a high around Rs 338 and closed above technical level of Rs 330. If it crosses Rs 340 on Wednesady, it may see 350/360 levels soon.
Nifty Future closed around 8200 level, If it sustains above 8250 level, it may see more upward momentum.
