Bulls take the reins; FMCG, Healthcare rally
The Indian market has been witnessing good recovery from last couple of days, sectors like Banks, FMCG, Healthcare, Mid-caps and Small-Caps being the key gainers. The Nifty ended 33 points up at 8127 and the Sensex ended 121 points up at 26524. The global scenario also looked promising for the day.
The advance-decline ratio ended positive today. On the NSE, 1590 shares closed in green, while 1007 shares ended the day in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Lupin closed with highest top gains, up by 4.4%. Idea Cellular, HUL, Bharti Infratel and Bosch were the others trading higher.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: HCL Tech was down by 2.9% today, followed by Tata Motors (DVR), Tata Motors, Hindalco and TCS.
10 of the 13 sectors ended in the green. FMCG and Healthcare were up more than 100 points. Metals and Oil & Gas gained 80 points each; while Bankex, Auto and Capital Goods were up around 55-60 points. However, the IT stocks were surrounded by some profit booking trade, down by 98 points.
The Asian markets closed on a positive note. The Nikkei market was the top gainer, up by 13 points and Hang Seng ended 54 points lower. Shanghai Composite and Taiwan Weighted were also in the green zone.
Buzzers: Lupin. The stock surged by 4.4 per cent to close above 1540 level. If it continues with the current momentum, it may see 1570/1600 soon.
Nifty Futures have broken their bullish crossover at 8100 and also managed to close above this level. A positive opening is likely in tomorrow’s trading session.
