Bulls charge; Nifty above 8200
The Indian markets saw superb rally before June F&O expiry session, with Auto, Bankex and Consumer Durables leading the day. The Nifty ended higher by 76 points at 8204 and Sensex was up by 215 points at 26740. Both the indices ended higher by around 0.80-0.95 per cent.
The market breadth remained positive till closing hour, with 1851 advances and 753 declines on the NSE.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Bosch was the top gainer for today’s session, closing higher by 5.4%. Among the other gainers were Hero MotoCorp, NTPC, BHEL and Power Grid Corp.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Lupin ended lower by 0.7% today, followed by Coal India, ITC, HUL and Bank of Baroda.
Auto gained a total of 289 points for the day; Bankex, IT and Consumer Durables were up by around 150 points each. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps were also higher more than 100 points each. Metals, Oil & Gas and Healthcare also closed in positive territory. However FMCG closed on a negative note by 11 points.
In Asia, the Hang Seng was the top gainer and saw an appreciation of 263 points and Nikkei ended higher by 243 points. KOSPI and Taiwan Weighted closed with a nominal positive bias.
Buzzers: Bosch. The stock surged by 5.4 per cent to cross the technical level of Rs 22650. If it sustains around this level, it may touch 22800/23000 soon.
Nifty Futures saw a handsome up-move and closed above 8200, indicating more strength ahead.
