Three new players in F&O segment from October series

Shares of IDFC Bank, DCB Bank and Torrent Power will remain in focus, as these stocks will enter the derivative segment from Friday.  The share prices of these companies increased by 3.47 per cent, 4.76 per cent and 4.04 per cent on bourses in early trades.

The NSE has fixed the lot size for IDFC Bank at 8,000 shares while DCB Bank and Torrent Power will have lot size of 4,500 and 3,000 shares respectively. The shares entering F&O segment will not face any circuit freeze, which means they can fall or rise to any extent.

Currently, there are over 200 securities available in the F&O segment for trade. In July 2015, markets regulator SEBI had made a steep hike in the minimum investment size for any equity derivative product to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 2 lakh. Besides, the minimum lot size of an equity derivative contract had been increased to Rs 5 lakh.
