Stock specific day, Indices end on negative note
The Indian markets witnessed volatile trades on October 25, 2016. The stocks like Adani Ports, Arvind, Dr. Reddy's and Symphony surged after good Q2 numbers. However Tata Group stocks dragged the benchmark on lower mark. The Nifty ended with nominal loss of 17 points to close at 8691 and Sensex ended down by 87 points at 28091.
The advance-decline ratio ended on the negative side in the closing session. On the NSE, 20 shares closed in green, while 31 shares ended the day in red.
Majority of the sectoral indices closed in negative in today’s session. Auto and IT were the top losers, losing around 95 points and 86 points respectively. While Capital Goods and FMCG were down by around 75 points each. Metals, Oil & Gas and Mid-caps also closed in negative territory. However Banks, Consumer Durables and Healthcare closed in positive territory.
In the Asian markets, the Nikkei closed up by 130 points. The Hang Seng index ended down by 38 points. While the Straits Times and KOSPI also ended on a negative note.
European markets were trading in positive scenario.
Derivative Analysis
Nifty future managed to sustain above 8700. Going ahead 8760/8790 levels will be the major hurdles.
