On the street of strong sales, Maruti drives steadfast
The country's leading auto manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki zoomed to all time high, after announcement of its strong January sale numbers on this Wednesday morning.
Maruti suzuki, the leading passenger car manufacturer has informed BSE and NSE that a total of 1,44,396 units were sold in January which includes 1,33,934 units in domestic market and 10,462 units of export. This number is 27 per cent more than that of the same month last year.
In this budget, an increase in incentives, allowances and perquisites in the income tax would increase the cash in the hands of citizen which in turn, will increase the spending. Foremost, priority should be given to boost rural consumption.
Industry wants a very clear policy regarding scrapping of old vehicles. This will not only help the environment, but also in government revenue. It will also lead to more scraps, which will eventually fulfil the industry's scrap requirement. It will also create additional employment.
The stock has gained closed to 2 per cent to make a new high of Rs 5,995 on this Wednesday morning ahead of Union Budget 2017.
