Tata Motors partners with Microsoft for digitization of cars
Tata Motors, one of the pioneers in Indian automobile industry, announced that it has joined hands with software giant Microsoft for digitisation of driving experience to attract the digital generation.
This partnership will enable Tata Motors to provide drivers and passengers various digital services such as advanced navigation, remote monitoring, periodic maintenance and other vehicle-centric services. Many of the above features are already available in vehicles of premium brands such as BMW, Porsche and Audi. This agreement between Tata Motors and Microsoft will help Tata Motors to offer such services at an affordable price tag.
The services and solutions provided by Microsoft are distinct from the basic infotainment services provided by Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
The senior management of Tata Motors commented, "We are using Microsoft’s connected vehicle technologies on Azure intelligent cloud to bring the digital lives of our customers into the cars they drive.”
Apart from Azure cloud, it will also be powered with services such as artificial intelligence, advance analytics and machine learning.
It is expected that the company will be showcasing one of the new cars with this technology at Geneva Motor Show under the brand name TAMO.
