Markets may open with tiny losses

It was a Black Friday for the Indian stock markets, which experienced a bloodbath on the bourses, the Sensex plunged by 448 to settle at 31,922 and the Nifty fell 158 points to settle below 10,000 mark. Selling was seen across the broad as metal and mining stocks slumped amid fall in the global metals prices.

The European markets had a mixed outing on the last trading session of the week.  The FTSE 100 of the UK added 0.64%. The German DAX Index slipped 0.06%. The French CAC 40 Index advanced 0.27%.

The US’ stocks spent most part of the trading session lingering near the neutral line. At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average slid 10 points to finish at 22,350. The Nasdaq Composite Index edged higher by 4 points to finish at 6,427 and the S&P 500 inched up 2 points to 2,502. Donald Trump responded Kim’s statement with a post on twitter, he tweeted “Kim Jong Un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn’t mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before”.

Majority of Asian markets were pressured in early trade on Monday. The Nikkei 225 has gained 96 points. On the flip side, the Hong Kong’s Hang Seng has dropped 248 points and the China’s Shanghai Composite has slid 2 points.

The local markets are likely to open with marginal losses on back of weak global cues. The Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange were trading at 9,981 with a loss of 3 points.
