Week Opens Nominally In Positive

The Indian markets are trading on a positive note this morning. The Nifty is at the 6160 mark, up by 15 points and Sensex has moved up by 60 points to 20744. Both the indices are higher by 0.25%. The key global indices are also in the green zone.

The advance-decline ratio is in the green. On the NSE, 1684 shares are trading in gains and 1457 shares are down.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Axis Bank is the highest gainer so far, up by 1.7%. Among the other stocks trading higher are L&T, GAIL, HUL and ICICI Bank.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: ITC has dipped by 2.4% so far, followed by Sun Pharma, HCL Tech, Lupin and Cairn India.

Most of the sectoral indices are trading in the green in the opening session. Bankex has moved up by 117 points. Capital Goods and Auto are trading up more than 100 points each. Oil & Gas and Consumer Durables are also trading up by 60 points and 79 points respectively. Both Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are nominally positive. On the other hand, FMCG is down by 73 points and Healthcare is down by 36 points.

The Asian markets are trading in the green. Nikkei market is the top gainer, up by 237 points, followed by Hang Seng, which has gained 108 points. Taiwan Weighted and KOSPI are also in positives.

Buzzer: Axis Bank is trading higher by 2.2%, and is above its psychological level of Rs 1200. If the scrip remains above this level, it may touch Rs 1250 by the closing session.

Nifty Futures is facing resistances at the 6180 and 6200 levels. 6140 and 6122 will be crucial support levels for the index today.
