Bharti Airtel Q1FY18 results: PAT plunges over 58 per cent
India’s leading telecom operator Bharti Airtel Ltd. reported its results for the quarter ended June 30, 2017 today.
The company's total sales for Q1FY18 came in at Rs 21,958.1 crore, which represents a 0.11 per cent sequential increase and 14.05 per cent YoY decline.
Its operating profit (EBIT) for the quarter amounted to Rs 7758.4 crore and its EBIT margin stood at 35.33 per cent.
The company reported PAT of Rs 617.7 crore, which represents a sequential QoQ increase of 31.26 per cent and a YoY decline of 58.38 per cent.
The company stated that “pricing disruption in the Indian telecom market caused by the entry of a new operator continued with industry revenues declining over 14% YoY, creating further stress on sector profitability, cash flows and leverage.”
