Dalal Street Investment Journal is pleased to bring to you the much-anticipated DSIJ PSU Award. Since 2009, the birth year of this flagship issue, we have identified the efforts and the brilliant achievements of the PSUs in India. We follow a ranking methodology for PSUs based on comprehensive financial parameters. We have evaluated data only of Maharatnas, Navratnas and Miniratnas, among CPSEs. Again, these companies are divided into manufacturing and non-manufacturing, depending on their areas of operation. We ranked and awarded companies in three categories – Maharatna/ Navratna/ Miniratna of the year, Most efficient Maharatna/ Navratna/ Miniratna and Fastest growing Maharatna/ Navratna/ Miniratna.

Since the birth of PSU Awards in 2009, Dalal Street Investment Journal has been diligently recognising the efforts, contribution and achievements of the PSUs. This association with the leaders of the most valuable corporations of India, who have been scripting the PSU growth story and shouldering the socio-economic responsibilities of a government enterprise, fills us with immense pleasure. At this exclusive platform to recognize the efforts and achievements of PSUs, Dalal Street Investment Journal has recognised ONGC, Coal India, IOCL, NTPC, SAIL, Power Grid Corporation of India, NMDC, REC, NBCC along with several other leading PSUs as ‘Roll of Honour’ in the DSIJ PSU Award 2017. We admire and salute the leaders of the PSUs who have been spearheading the sector with professionalism and commitment, and thus, earnestly strive to bring an insightful coverage of India’s public sector.

DSIJ announces the winners of the Best Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) Awards, 2016, a flagship event DSIJ PSU Award has been recognising the efforts of the PSUs in India for several years now. We follow a ranking methodology for PSUs based on comprehensive financial parameters. We have evaluated data only of Maharatnas, Navratnas and Miniratnas, among CPSEs. Again, these companies are divided into manufacturing and non-manufacturing, depending on their areas of operation. We ranked and awarded companies under three criteria i.e. Size, Most Efficient and Fastest Growing. These criteria were applied across all Maha­ratna/ Navratna/ Miniratna further split into Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing category.

Started way back in 2009 with the First DSIJ PSU awards, Dalal Street Investment Journal always remained to be the torchbearer of the media fraternity that always regards the performances of Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) ‘The Kohinoors’ of Modern India at a high pedestal and building a positive perception about them at the bourses and on ground as well. Taking this tradition forward, this year the 7th DSIJ PSU award ceremony was held on Thursday, 21st April 2016, at The Ashok, this highly prestigious award ceremony was graced by Hon'ble Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State (IC) of Tourism & Culture & Minister of state of civil aviation & Dr. Darlie O Koshy, Director General, ATDC, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The PSU awards presentation also saw attendance of number of CMDs, Directors and top officials of leading PSU's. To celebrate the contribution of these PSU's in the economic development of the country, awards were presented to Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in 14 categories.

This highly prestigious award ceremony was graced by Shri. Suresh Prabhu, Hon'ble Minister of Railways Govt. of India, Gen. (Retd.) V.K.Singh, Minister of State (IC) for Statistics and Programme Implementation Minister of State for Overseas Indian Affairs, External Affairs Govt. of India and Shri. K.D. Tripathi, Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Govt. of India. To celebrate these jewels in the crown of the Indian Industry, awards were presented to Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in 15 categories for their steadfast support and contribution to the Indian economy. Number of CMD's, Directors and top officials of leading PSU's also attended this auspicious event.

5^th Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) Awards 2013; presented to PSUs in recognition of the excellence of performance and their contribution to the Indian economy. The coveted awards were given away by Chief Guest, Shri TKA Nair, Adviser to Hon. Prime Minister, Government of India. The event also saw attendance of number of CMDs, Directors and top officials of leading PSU's.

4^th Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) Awards 2012; presented to PSUs in recognition of the excellence of performance and their contribution to the Indian economy. The coveted awards were given away by Chief Guest, Mr. Ajit Singh, Honorable Union Minister of Civil Aviation. The event also saw attendance of number of CMDs, Directors and top officials of leading PSU's.

3^rd DSIJ PSU Awards 2011 function was held in the Crystal Hall of The Lalit, New Delhi. Chief Guest Hon'ble Sushilkumar Shinde, Union Minister of Power presented awards to PSUs in 17 categories. More than 150 chairmen and managing directors along with executive and senior directors and general managers of the winning PSUs made it to this august gathering.

Dalal Street Investment Journal (DSIJ), India's No. 1 investment magazine announced in 18 categories of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for their steadfast support and contribution to the Indian economy. These prestigious awards were presented by Mr. Virbhadra Singh, Union Minister of Steel and Mr. Arun Maira, Member, Planning Commission at The Lalit Hotel in New Delhi on April 6, 2010.
