Consumer Durables shine on a profit booking day for BSE Sensex; Amber Enterprises tops BSE Consumer Durables index

BSE Consumer Durables index gained 0.83 per cent while BSE Auto index was up by nearly 0.50 per cent helped by Mauruti Suzuki and Hero Motors.

BSE Sensex traded with weakness on Wednesday even as the broader markets marginally outperformed the frontline indices. BSE Consumer Durables was the only sectorial index that managed to close in green along with the BSE Auto index.

BSE Consumer Durables index gained 0.83 per cent while BSE Auto index was up by nearly 0.50 per cent helped by Mauruti Suzuki and Hero Motors. Amber Enterprises was the top BSE Consumer Durables index gainer; up by more than 5 per cent on Wednesday. Bajaj Electricals, Titan and  Voltas soared by more than 1 per cent each while Rajesh Exports and  Crompton  Consumers gained by 0.53 per cent and 0.37 per cent each.

VIP Industries, Symphony and Dixon Technologies were the top index losers, slipping by more than 1 per cent each. Titan and Voltas put together contributed most to the BSE Consumer Durable index gains. BSE Sensex slipped by  283 points or 0.54 per cent owing to profit booking ahead of the F&O expiry day.
