Q1FY21 results: Torrent Pharma net profit increases by 48.61 per cent YoY

Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd, the flagship Company of Torrent Group, announced its quarterly results on July 30, 2020. The company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 321 crore for Q1FY21, which increased by 48.61 per cent, as compared to Q1FY20 when it reported Rs 216 crore.                                                                                                                                                  

The consolidated net sales reported in Q1FY21 came in at Rs 2,056 crore, which increased by 1.68 per cent YoY from Rs 2,022 crore in Q1FY20. At EBITDA level, the company stood at Rs 661 crore in Q1FY21 that increased by    22.18 per cent YoY. For Q1FY20, it posted an EBITDA of Rs 541 crore. The growth in company's EBITDA was driven by productivity and cost efficiency.

EBITDA margin as of Q1FY21 was at 32.15 per cent that increased by 5.39 per cent YoY. The net profit margin in Q1FY21 came in at 15.61 per cent, which increased by 4.93 per cent YoY. The net profit margin in Q1FY20 was at 10.68 per cent.                 

The shares of the company closed with gains of 2.15 per cent at Rs 2,436.85 per piece on BSE.
