In the month of January 2021, the financial sector gained over other sectors to be on the top of the fund managers’ buying list, followed by technology, metals and chemicals sector.

The above table shows that in the month of January 2021, the financial sector has come in the preference list of the top five sectors of the fund managers. The total approximate buying done in the financial sector is Rs 5,019.32 crore. In the financial sector, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd and Axis Bank Ltd have made their way to the top five buying with a total approximate buying value of Rs 1,583.80 crore. 

 

 

Further, if we look at the total sector-wise buying done in the month of January 2021, then we can see that the financial sector has been on the top, followed by technology, metals, chemicals & healthcare sector with an approximate buying of Rs 5,019.32 crore, Rs 1,458.51 crore, Rs 1,116.45 crore, Rs 1,097.19 crore and Rs 957.35 crore, respectively. 

 

 

Looking at the total buying made market cap-wise in the month of January 2021, large-cap is seen to be at the top, followed by mid-cap and small-cap with an approximate buying value of Rs 7,900.42 crore, Rs 3,555.39 crore, and Rs 2,103.57 crore, respectively. 

 

The intention of the above analysis is only for the purpose of understanding the activity of mutual funds and gauging the fund managers’ approach and it by no means, a recommendation to buy or sell. It is always advisable to have a financial plan in place, which must be followed with discipline and investments in mutual funds being made to be based on your individual risk assessment.
