Wipro climbs nearly 2 per cent on launching innovation centre in London
Wipro Limited, a leading global information technology, consulting & business process services company announced on Tuesday that the company is in the process of setting up an innovation centre in Holborn (London).
Wipro plans to invest £16 million in the 20,000 sq. ft innovation centre to be set up in London. The centre will represent Wipro’s flagship centre in the United Kingdom and also offer technical expertise to companies in the UK & globally. This investment will be made over a period of the next four years. Wipro will provide advanced digital, cybersecurity and cloud expertise to established as well as upcoming enterprises, driving the digital transformation in one of Europe’s biggest technology markets.
Previously, Wipro has grounded a powerful presence in the United Kingdom, establishing ten offices across the region, which includes a cloud studio in London and a cyber defence centre in Reading (Southern England). Following the recent announcement of Wipro’s acquisition of UK-based Capco for $1.45 billion, this opening of innovation centre will be a further critical step toward catering the needs of businesses with top-notch consultancy on digital, business and IT transformation. Wipro will be posed as one of the largest end-to-end global consulting, technology and transformation service providers to the banking & financial services industry as this acquisition will be introducing new 1,300 employees on the roll in the UK.
