Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL), country's leading PSU, bagged order from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (Mahagenco) for power project's emission control equipment.

The order secured by BHEL is in addition to an ongoing project being built on the same site for 660 MW super critical power plant. The additional order includes installation of emission control equipment, changes in various equipment/subsystems due to change in coal, modification in CHP/AHP, etc. With this order, the revised order value for the Bhusawal TPS Unit 6 EPC project is now around Rs. 3,750 crore. The initial order was won by BHEL beating stiff competition from international bidders.

BHEL is revamping its business approach. The company recently notified that it has completed one of its projects in record time. It commissioned 800 MW super critical thermal plant at Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) of Telangana. Further, the company has also bagged new orders which reflects the confidence it enjoys from its client base.

On Wednesday, the stock closed at Rs. 69.30 per share, down by Rs. 1.70 or 2.39 per cent on BSE. While the benchmark index Sensex closed 336 points down at 36,108.47.
