L&T surges; reports range of mega contracts

The construction arm of Larsen & Toubro bagged several distinguished contracts for its Buildings & Factories, Metallurgical & Material Handling and GeoStructure business segments.

The Buildings & Factories business secured a prominent order for the construction of Campus Development of IIT Hyderabad Package 3A at Kandi, Telangana. This project involves several iconic buildings including the Sports and Cultural Complex, Research Centre Complex, Knowledge Centre, Technology Incubation Park, Technology Research Park, International Guest House and Academic blocks. The project is expected to be completed in 36 months.

Another order was secured from a realtor for the construction of 'Asset 13 Project' at Aerocity in New Delhi. This project is composed of a top-rated hotel building, Grade-A office complex, international conference and business centre as well as multi-level car parking spaces. The project is to be completed in 22.5 months period.

Furthermore, L&T Construction has bagged add-on orders from some of its existing projects as well.

The Metallurgical and Material Handling business of the company secured orders from BHEL for Ash Handling Plant (AHP). This is to be installed at NTPC, Patratu Thermal Power Plant in Jharkhand. The AHP is the first of its kind Dry Bottom Ash Handling system and is completely environment-friendly in terms of 100 per cent ash utilization and water consumption. The same business has also received orders in various product segments and add-ons from on-going jobs in both the domestic and the Gulf regions.

The L&T GeoStructure business landed an order from CMRL for the Central Square underground space development. The scope of the project involves the construction of diaphragm walls and three basements.

On Thursday, the shares of Larsen & Toubro opened at Rs. 1,316.00 and hit a high and low of Rs. 1,355.40 and Rs. 1,310.40, respectively. At 12:53 am, the stock was trading at Rs. 1,346.95, up 2.43 per cent.
