Promoters' stake means the number of shares held by the promoters out of the total number of shares in the company. The remaining shares are available for the shareholders. Generally, if promoter stake has increased it provides a sign of confidence of the promoter in the business. On the other hand, if the promoters stake has decreased significantly, it is not a healthful sign.
