Ramco Cements commissions waste heat recovery power generating plant

Ramco Cements informed the bourses during the weekend that it has commissioned a 9 MW waste heat recovery power generating plant at Jayanthipuram (Andhra Pradesh) in September 2020.

The company is in the process of installing two more 9 MW waste heat recovery plants, which would be commissioned in the upcoming months. This would help the company to economise its operations and reinforce commitment towards environmental protection.

Besides, the company is in the process of establishing a new cement plant at Kolimigundla (Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh) with a clinkerisation capacity of 2.25 million tonnes per annum and a cement manufacturing capacity of 1 million tonnes per annum. This project will also have a waste heat recovery system of 12.15 MW capacity. On commissioning of the said waste heat recovery systems, the company’s aggregate capacity of waste heat recovery plants would be 39.15 MW.

The stock of Ramco Cements in today's trading session opened the gap up at Rs 708.85 as against Rs 702.25 and surged nearly 2.7 per cent to touch an intraday high of Rs 721.6 apiece.

Ramco Cements is a flagship company of Ramco Group, a well-known business group of South India. The main product of the company is Portland cement, manufactured in eight state-of-the-art production facilities that include integrated cement plants and grinding units.
