Debt MF vs PPF

Debt MF vs PPF

I have gone through your debt mutual fund and PPF article. Where should I invest for retirement purposes? Which will be more beneficial since both offer similar returns?  - Manali Rajput

Editor Responds : Thank you for writing to us. If you are a conservative investor and have only a couple of sources of income, stick to PPF as it gives guaranteed returns. In case of debt MF, there is a little bit of risk in terms of both interest rate as well as credit risk. Ideally, you should invest in both PPF and debt MF depending upon your risk appetite and the number of years to retirement.
