Very Illuminating!

I have recently begun reading your magazine and find it very illuminating. After learning about the continuous underperformance of India, I want to ask whether you think that the Indian economy, given the macroeconomic situation, is headed towards the recession phase?

Thank you for your kind words. We believe we are far from recession in India. There is a slowdown and the slowdown in our view is temporary in nature. Soon we will be on a faster growth track. The much-required policy support can be expected from the government even as several sectors are forming lower bases from which they can bounce back. Recession is when we have two consecutive quarters of de-growth in GDP.
