The benchmark indices NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex 30 have closed on a flat note on a volatile day. NSE Nifty 50 index recovered about 100 points from its day’s low to close at 18,700 levels.

Benchmark indices traded lower throughout the day ahead of the release of US Jobs data. NSE Nifty 50 index slipped 0.62 per cent to close at the 18,700 level while BSE Sensex dipped 415 points.

NSE Nifty 50 index jumped 0.29 per cent to close at 18,800 level while BSE Sensex soared nearly 200 points. Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap rose 0.77 per cent and 0.43 per cent respectively. 

It was a fantastic final hour as Nifty shot up nearly 150 points to soar above 18,800 before receding a little. In the end, Nifty surged 0.75 per cent to close at an all-time high level at of 18,758 and BSE Sensex jumped over 400 points.

This midcap realty stock has witnessed strong buying interest from the institutions as it jumped over 4 per cent during the initial hours. It is among the leading players of the industry, working in the construction of residential, corporate and social projects.

It was the day of large cap stocks as they outperformed the broader market. NSE Nifty 50 closed at an all-time high above 18,600 level while Sensex surged 180 points.

The broader indices marched higher despite bad global cues. The star performances came from the midcap and Smallcap indices which jumped nearly 1 per cent.
