December sales numbers: Auto stocks will continue to hog the limelight

The December sales numbers of the Auto sector are coming out gradually, and as expected the sales numbers of the majority companies are down due to the cash crunch situation which demonetisation has created. TVS Motors, Tata Motors and Hero MotoCorp are the Auto stocks which are likely to be in focus on Jan 3. TVS Motors' domestic two wheeler sales have fallen by 8.8 percent at 153,413 units versus 168,160 units (YoY). On the other hand, three wheeler sales of the company are down by 32.8 percent at 5,393 units versus 8,020 units (YoY).

Hero MotoCorp's total sales for the month of December stand at 330,202 units, which is down by 33.9 per cent. 
However, the sales are up by 4.3 per cent as compared from Jan-Dec 2016.

Tata Motors on the contrary has recorded good numbers in December. The two wheeler sale is up by two per cent, and stands at 40,944 units. However, the commercial vehicle segment sales are down by 9 per cent at 24,998 units as compared with the previous year.
