Graphite India posts robust numbers in Q1FY18

Graphite India Ltd reported its results for the quarter ended March 31, 2017 today.

The company's total sales for Q1FY18 came in at Rs 376.2 crore, which represents a 5.34 per cent sequential decline and 27.36 per cent YoY increase.

Its operating profit (EBIT) for the quarter amounted to Rs 24.2 crore and its EBIT margin stood at 6.43 per cent.

The company reported PAT of Rs 29.45 crore, which represents a sequential QoQ decline of 52.48 per cent and a YoY increase of 170.18 per cent.
 
Graphite India Limited is engaged in the manufacture of graphite electrodes, graphite equipments, steel, glass reinforced plastic (GRP) pipes and tanks and generation of hydel power.

The company's stock opened at Rs 209 on the BSE, rose 6.54 per cent after the results were declared and closed at Rs 221.50.
