Interesting insight from Angel One: Retail turnover market shares dip on MoM basis in September!

Angel One, formerly known as Angel Broking, shared its business updates recently, and here are some of the interesting insights from its monthly report.
The number of trading days in the month of September and August 2021 stood similar at 21 days. Client base (million) rose by 6.1 per cent on an MoM basis to 6.52 as compared to 6.15 in the month of August 2021. On a YoY basis, a growth of 142 per cent was registered in the client base.
Gross client acquisition (million) dipped 13 per cent in the month of September to 0.39 while on a YoY basis, it jumped 99.3 per cent. The average client fund book (Rs in billion) stood at 14.08 in September, which dropped by 12.4 per cent on an MoM basis. The number of trades (million) grew by 5.1 per cent on an MoM basis to 101.07 in September while on a YoY basis, it soared 97.2 per cent.
Average daily turnover (Rs in billion) barring cash segment, all other segments like F&O and commodity witnessed growth on MoM basis whereas cash segment dipped 3.9 per cent on an MoM basis. Overall, the average daily turnover jumped 11.7 per cent on an MoM basis in September.
As per the report, the retail turnover market shares (per cent) in F&O, cash, and commodity have dipped by 148 bps, 111 bps & 212 bps on an MoM basis in September.
