Suzlon Group has secured a significant 248.85 MW wind power order from ArcelorMittal Group to support the decarbonization of steel production in India. The project involves the installation of 79 units of Suzlon’s S144 wind turbine generators, each featuring a rated capacity of 3.15 MW, at a site in Bhachau, Gujarat. This initiative is a core component of a larger 550 MW hybrid energy project designed to provide captive power for ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel’s domestic facilities.

This contract represents Suzlon’s fourth major order within a single year, specifically aimed at the green steel sector, bringing the company’s total contribution to approximately 1,156 MW in this category. By partnering with major steelmakers over the last 12 months, the group continues to play a central role in transitioning high-emission industrial manufacturing toward low-carbon energy sources.
