5 best and worst PSU performers in FY19

In the last fiscal, most stocks were bleeding on BSE and NSE. The public sector undertakings (PSU) stocks were not an exception. The BSE PSU index has been down by 7.6 per cent in the last one year.

Total 61 PSU companies are included in the BSE PSU index. Of that, only 9 companies delivered positive returns to the shareholders in the last one year. Whereas 52 stocks have corrected majorly over the last one year. Almost 17 stocks have corrected by more than 30 per cent in the said period.

Also, PSU companies are well-known for having high dividend yield. In FY19, some of the PSUs having high dividend yield included Indian Oil Corporation, SJVN, Oil India, National Aluminium Company, Chennai Petroleum and others.
