Deepak Nitrite commissions facility for phenol and acetone

Deepak Nitrite’s wholly-owned subsidiary has started production of phenol and acetone at its mega plant, according to the company’s filing with bourses.

The said production facility is equipped to manufacture 2,00,000 MTPA of phenol and 1,20,000 MTPA of its co-product acetone. This is supported by the capacity to manufacture 2,60,000 MT of Cumene for captive consumption.

The company has started this facility to meet increasing demand for phenol and acetone. Further, the company stated that local availability of phenol and acetone is expected to boost the production of downstream intermediates, which will diversify the applications for these products and further expand the overall market in the country.

The stock of Deepak Nitrite in Friday’s trading session opened at Rs. 258.95 per share and was trading at a positive note. At 11.47 hours, the stock was trading at Rs. 257 apiece, up by 1.60 per cent.
