Market Wrap: Benchmark indices close on a positive note while Nifty Realty surges over 2.5 per cent!

On Tuesday, Benchmark indices concluded the trading day on a positive note as Sensex marginally gained by 0.12 per cent and closed at 73,738.46 level, while Nifty also gained by 0.14 per cent and closed at 22,368 level.

Market Update at 3:40 PM: On Tuesday, Benchmark indices concluded the trading day on a positive note as Sensex marginally gained by 0.12 per cent and closed at 73,738.46 level, while Nifty also gained by 0.14 per cent and closed at 22,368 level. Similarly, the Broader market experienced outperformance as Nifty Midcap closed substantially higher by 1.12 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap significantly gained by 1.21 per cent.

Market volatility, as indicated by India VIX, has declined by 19.72 per cent, reflecting a decrease in market volatility.

Nifty Realty, Nifty FMCG, Nifty Media and Nity IT are among the top gainers while Nifty Pharma, Nifty Metal and Nifty Energy were among the top losers.

Grasim, Bharti Airtel and Nestle India were among the top gainers while Sun Pharma, BPCL and Reliance were among the top losing stocks from the Nifty 50.

About 1324 stocks were advancing as against to 779 stocks that were declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

Market Update at 2:10 PM: In the current trading session benchmark indices trade on a positive note with the Sensex trading moderately higher by 0.25 per cent, while Nifty also gained by 0.26 per cent. Similarly, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap has substantially surged by 1.06 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has significantly gained by 1.16 per cent.

India VIX is currently trading significantly lower by 20.77 per cent, indicating a decrease in market volatility.

Nifty Realty, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Auto are among the top gainers while Nifty Pharma, Nifty Energy and Nifty Metal are among the top losers.

Grasim, Bharti Airtel and HCL Technologies are among the top gainers while Sun Pharma, BPCL and Reliance are among the top losing stocks from the Nifty 50.

About 1367 stocks are advancing as against 729 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 12:40 PM: In the current trading session benchmark indices trade higher as Sensex has moderately gained by 0.31 per cent, while Nifty also gained by 0.32 per cent. Similarly, in the broader markets Nifty Midcap has substantially gained by 1.08 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has surged by 0.97 per cent.

India VIX is currently trading substantially lower by 20.57 per cent, indicating a significant decrease in market volatility.

European markets are heading for a higher open on Tuesday, building on positive momentum in the previous session. European futures DAX, CAC and FTSE trade higher by 0.7 per cent, 0.03 per cent and 0.25 per cent respectively.

Nifty Realty, Nifty FMCG and Nifty PSU Bank are among the top gainers while currently Nifty Pharma is the only major sector which is underperforming.

Bharti Airtel, Grasim and HCL Technologies are among the top gainers while Sun Pharma, HDFC Life and Reliance are among the top losing stocks from the Nifty 50.

About 1429 stocks are advancing as against to 660 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 11:20 AM: In the ongoing trading session, Benchmark indices are trading on a positive note with Sensex surging by 0.27 per cent, while Nifty also gained by 0.24 per cent. Similarly, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap experience substantial gains of 0.74 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has soared by 0.83 per cent.

India VIX is trading substantially lower by 18.13 per cent, indicating a decrease in market volatility.

Nifty Realty, Nifty FMCG and Nifty PSU Bank are among the top gainers while Nifty Energy and Nifty Pharma are among the top losers.

Top gainers in individual stocks are Grasim, Bharti Airtel and HCL Technologies, whereas Sun Pharma, Tata Consumer Product and Reliance are among the top losers in the Nifty 50.

The broader market sentiment is positive, with 1446 stocks advancing compared to 640 stocks declining.

 

Market Update at 9:35 AM: On Tuesday, Indian markets initiated the trading day on a positive note with Sensex opening moderately higher by 0.34 per cent, while Nifty also opened higher by 0.32 per cent. Similarly, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap opened moderately higher by 0.51 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap also opened higher by 0.68 per cent.

India VIX has substantially declined by 18.13 per cent, indicating a decrease in market volatility.

Nifty Realty, Nifty IT and Nifty Auto among the top gainers while Nifty Metal is the only major sector which trading negatively.

Bharti Airtel, HCL Technologies and Bajaj Finserv are among the top gainers while Hindalco, Britannia and Power Grid are among the top losing stocks from the Nifty 50.

About 1389 stocks are advancing as against to 564 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:10 AM: Following recent market declines, Wall Street stocks closed higher on Monday, with investors focusing on upcoming Quarterly Results from significant companies to assess the health of the US economy.

The S&P 500 climbed 43.37 points, or 0.87 per cent, reaching 5,010.60, while the Nasdaq Composite rose by 169.30 points, or 1.11 per cent, to 15,451.31. Similarly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average saw an increase of 253.58 points, or 0.67 per cent, closing at 38,239.98.

The trends in GIFT Nifty suggests a favourable beginning for Indian Benchmark indices, with an increase of 32 points or 0.14 per cent. Nifty futures were observed trading near the 22,416.50 mark.

During Asian trading on Tuesday, oil prices stabilized following a decline in the prior session, with investors persistently evaluating geopolitical risks in the Middle East.

Global benchmark Brent crude oil futures edged up by 4 cents to USD 87.39 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures also increased by 4 cents to USD 81.94 a barrel.

The previous session witnessed both benchmarks dropping by 29 cents, indicating limited immediate effects on oil supplies from the region despite heightened tensions between Israel and Iran.

On April 22, 2024, foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares worth Rs 2,915.23 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 3,542.93 crore.

Stocks that are banned for trading in the F&O segment on April 23, 2024, are BIOCON, HINDCOPPER, IDEA, PEL, SAIL and ZEEL.
