On June 20, foreign institutional investors (FII) sold shares totalling Rs 1,942.62 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 1,972.51 crore.

Market Update at 3:30 PM: Sensex close higher by 0.31 per cent while Nifty closes higher by 0.22 per cent.

Nifty Midcap close higher by 0.82 per cent while Nifty Smallcap closes on a flat note.

India VIX has surged by 1.44 per cent.

Nifty Media, Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Energy were among the top gainers while Nifty Realty, Nifty Metal and Nifty FMCG were among the top losers towards the end of the trading session.

Power Grid, HDFC and HDFC Bank were among the top gainers while JSW Steel, Hindalco and M&M were among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

Power Grid, HDFC Life and Wipro are among the top gainers while Divi’s Laboratories, JSW Steel and Hindalco are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1445 stocks are advancing as against to 420 stocks that are declining. Thus, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:40 AM: US stock futures were flat on Tuesday evening as investors took a breather from last week's rally. Dow Jones futures slipped 0.06 per cent, S&P 500 futures inched down by 0.06 per cent, and Nasdaq 100 futures lost 0.03 per cent.

The Dollar index recorded a 0.02 per cent decline in futures, trading at 102.52, while the value of one dollar remained close to Rs 81.99.

On June 20, foreign institutional investors (FII) sold shares totalling Rs 1,942.62 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) bought shares worth Rs 1,972.51 crore.

There is a possibility of a slight positive opening in the market today, as indicated by the SGX Nifty, which shows a flat start for the benchmark indices with a 6-point increase. The session began at 18,877 points, and the SGX futures reached a high of 18,905 in early trade on June 21.

Stocks that banned for trading in the F&O segment on June 21, 2023, are BHEL, Delta Corp, HAL, Hindcopper, Indiabulls Housing Finance, India Cements and L&T Finance Holdings.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk met with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York and expressed plans to invest in India soon. Musk stated that he is confident about Tesla's presence in India and intends to visit the country next year.
