Maruti Suzuki, auto major and the largest carmaker by market capitalisation has launched a premium sedan Ciaz model having new 1.5 litre (earlier 1.4 litre) K15 petrol engine for enhanced performance containing 13 per cent and 6 per cent higher power and torque. The model also employs new smart hybrid technology with a lithium-ion battery, new front design and next-generation features of cruise control and auto headlamp with levelling.

The model is expected to provide a fuel efficiency of 21.56 km/litre and 28.09 km/litre in manual petrol variants and diesel, respectively. The price of the car starts at Rs. 8.19 lakh and its bookings have already been kicked-off in the last month at Rs. 11,000.

The stock of Maruti Suzuki remained marginally lower in an otherwise positive market condition. The stock continued its downward consolidation as the company had mulled hiking prices of the vehicles in the last week. The stock had hit the peak level of 10,000 around December 22. Thereafter, it tumbled up to 8,500 followed by 8,260, meanwhile creating a Rounding Base. The stock attempted a bounce back, but resisted at 9,923 levels and retreated. Since then it is trading with lower tops and lower bottoms. The volumes and oscillators, for now, support the Southwards move of the stock prices with no cue of reversal as of now.
