Despite trading higher earlier, domestic indices experienced a sharp decline during the second half of the trading session, primarily influenced by significant losses in the IT, energy, power, and utilities sectors. The BSE Sensex plunged 0.59 per cent to 72,623 level at the close. The Nifty 50 index slumped 0.64 per cent to a level of 22,055.

Jet Infraventure Ltd: Shares experienced a sevenfold surge in trading volume, concluding the trading session with an over 8 per cent gain, reaching Rs 9.78 per share on the BSE. The company operates in the property construction and development sector, having successfully executed numerous residential and commercial projects under its own brand and in collaboration with associated companies.

Agio Paper & Industries Ltd: Shares recorded an around 9 per cent surge, reaching a 52-week high of Rs 5.34 per share on the BSE. The company specializes in the manufacturing of writing & printing paper, which finds applications in books, textbooks, brochures, pamphlets, and various other materials.

GCM Capital Advisors Ltd: Shares were locked at the 10 per cent upper circuit for a shorter period today, reaching Rs 7.09 per share on the BSE. The company offers financial advisory and consultancy services and is involved in treasury operations, providing funding solutions to its clients.
