On Thursday, the primary stock indices concluded the trading day with a negative trend. The Sensex experienced a moderate decline of 0.44 per cent, reaching a closing level of 71,186.86, while the Nifty also recorded a 0.51 per cent drop, closing at 21,462.25.

Similarly, broader indices witnessed lower closing figures, with Nifty Mid-Cap marginally declining by 0.11 per cent and Nifty Small-Cap plummeting by 0.18 per cent.

India VIX, an indicator of market volatility, saw a notable decrease of 6.70 per cent, reflecting a moderate reduction in overall market volatility.

Among the Top Gainers were Nifty Pharma, Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Realty, and Nifty Auto. Conversely, Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Metal, Nifty Energy, and Nifty Bank were among the Top Losers.

Leading the gainers' list were Sun Pharma, Cipla, and Tech Mahindra, while LTIMindtree, HDFC Bank, and NTPC found themselves among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

The broader market sentiment appeared pessimistic, with 952 stocks advancing against 1,273 stocks declining. This indicates a cautious stance among market participants during the trading session.
