BSE Smallcap index jumped 1.33 per cent, ending at 26,021.90. Top gainers of the index include Vadilal Industries, Kennametal India, Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys, Astra Microwave Products and Gujarat Ambuja Exports.   

BSE Small-cap index plunged 1.78 per cent during early market hours and is trading at 27,250 levels.  

BSE Small-cap index, however, bucked the broader market trend, closing in the green territory at 28,161.67.

Days after receiving in-principle approval from SEBI for launch of Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) segment, BSE, India's leading and most diverse exchange, signed MoU's with the four regional associations from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. These associations include Thirunelveli Gold Silver Diamond Jewellery Traders Association, Nanded Sarafa Association, Saraf Suvarnkar Sangthna Pusad, and Ghadchiroli Zila Sarafa Association. Together these associations represent over 1,000 members involved in jewellery and bullion trade.

BSE Smallcap index gained 1.97 per cent, closing at 28,043.69.  

BSE Small-cap index also closed in the red territory at 28,691.82, recording losses of 1.90 per cent.    

BSE Small-cap index ended the session at 29,246.05, with marginal gains of 0.04 per cent.  

BSE Small-cap index closed the session at 29,233.31, up by 165.28 points i.e. 0.57 per cent.  

BSE Small-cap index underperformed broader markets, slipping 1.40 per cent and closing at 29,068.03. 

BSE Small-cap index relatively outperformed broader markets by slipping 0.75 per cent, closing at 29,480.13.
