Shares below Rs 100: Only buyers were seen in these stocks on January 16

On the sectoral front, the indices were trading mixed with the BSE Metals Index being the top gainers and the BSE Realty Index being the top losers.

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty-50 indices were trading negatively on Tuesday with the Sensex down 0.27 per cent at 73,129 and the Nifty-50 down 0.29 per cent at 22,032. About 1,334 shares have advanced, 2,506 have declined and 89 were unchanged on BSE. The BSE Sensex Index made a new 52-week high of 73,427.59 and the NSE Nifty-50 made a new 52-week high of 22,124.15 on January 16, 2024.

The broader markets were in negative territory, with the BSE Mid-Cap Index down 0.31 per cent and the BSE Small-Cap Index down 0.43 per cent. The top mid-cap gainers were Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd and Steel Authority of India Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Dredging Corporation of India Ltd, Capri Global Capital Limited and Atul Auto Ltd

The market capitalization of BSE-listed companies was Rs 3,74,99,165 crore or approx. Rs 375 lakh crore as of January 16, 2024. On the same day, 428 stocks hit a 52-week high while 11 stocks touched a 52-week low.
